Exciting news and program updates for the upcoming season!

To Our NYSA Families -

We hope you and your loved ones are well and managing to stay safe and healthy.  As much as everyone misses being outside playing soccer with their friends, it's important that we all work together to flatten the curve so we can get back on the pitch as soon as possible.

To that end, the Board of Directors and Staff of NYSA have been busy this winter getting ready for next season and we have some exciting changes to the program that we’re happy to share with everyone.

Improving the Experience for Everyone

The first thing that will pop out for everyone is right here at our new website!  NYSA has partnered with SportsEngine to create a new online home for our organization.  On this new site, families will be able to learn about our programs for all levels and easily register to play.  Coaches and players will also get the benefit of team management tools to make it easier to communicate with players and their families.

Recreational Soccer Registration is OPEN!

Recreational soccer is soccer for everyone, at any skill level.  With the help of many thousands of hours of volunteer coaching, we’re happy to welcome over 3000 area kids that choose to play soccer with us at NYSA.  We’re proud to provide a soccer experience that’s cost-competitive with other regional soccer associations but goes above and beyond to include mentoring and developmental support for our volunteer coaches, team equipment as well as trained game referees for most age levels.  This coming year, we’re adding additional training and resources to help further develop our coaches and expanding our referee mentoring program.

We’re excited to announce that Recreational Soccer registration for the 2020 season is now open!  Click here <insert link on that text> to get started.

Big Enhancements to NSC

Northshore Select Club (NSC), NYSA’s select-level soccer program, produces some of the most successful teams in the North Puget Sound League.  To further bolster the program, we’re excited to welcome Richard Romain-Ditka to the NYSA Technical Staff. Richard will be 100% focused on player & coach development for our NSC program, backstopped by our Association Director of Coaching.  Our select program couldn’t be successful without the commitment and support of our volunteer coaches, and we’re happy to have Richard on board to help them out. On top of this, each team will also receive funding to use at the team’s discretion for player development, additional equipment, and/or tournament entry.  We’re glad to be able to offer these program upgrades while maintaining the lowest-cost select program in the region by a large margin.

Welcome to our Premier Club!

For the 2020 season, we’re excited to announce that NYSA will once again be offering a premier-level soccer program directly from within the Association.  Premier soccer is the highest level of youth soccer, and we’re hard at work building a program that is worthy of the commitment made by the families and players that take part.  NYSA is offering the program in partnership with South Snohomish County Youth Soccer Association, expanding our reach to the Edmonds School District. We’re actively recruiting a Director of Coaching for the premier program, and we’re excited to share more details as soon as we can.

We hope you’re as excited about the coming season as we are.  We’re all looking forward to guidance from the State and Washington Youth Soccer on when we can get outside and resume playing.  Until then, we’d love to hear what you think about the changes we have in store for the coming season.
